It’s important to assess your organization’s preparedness before catastrophic events occur and know that there are resources available at the EIA to help you do so.

Training:

The Disaster Planning 101 class on EIA TV is a great place to start.  It will help you gauge your level of emergency preparedness. In this class participants will learn about:

  • Types of Disasters
  • Disaster Cycle
  • Preparedness
  • Training
  • Responsibilities
  • Tools

TargetSolutions, also has a variety of courses available including Disaster Preparedness and Building Evacuation/Emergencies. If you’re interested in TargetSolutions, but are not using it, it is available at no additional cost; contact the Loss Prevention Department for more information.

Resources:

There’s no time like the present to review your Emergency Action Plan (EAP).  Go to the EIA ToolBox for a detailed information sheet on EAPs.

Additional resources that can help you create an emergency response plan are available from FEMA.  Minimally, we recommend taking a look at these:

As always, if you have any questions or would like more information, please contact the Loss Prevention Department via email or at 916-850-7300.
