As Patti prepares to retire after a distinguished 40-year career, PRISM is excited to introduce two exceptional attorneys who will continue her legacy of outstanding service.

Meet the Team

Katie Mola

Katie brings 15 years of experience advising California public agencies on labor and employment law. Her expertise includes workplace complaints and investigations, performance management, reasonable accommodations, and compliance-driven policy development. Before joining PRISM, Katie held senior legal roles with the California State Auditor and CalPERS, where she provided counsel on employment law, public records access, and website accessibility. Her background also includes private practice, representing employers in employment and civil rights litigation.

Katie has served on the Executive Committee of the Labor & Employment Section of the California Lawyers Association since 2021. She is an accomplished leader, currently chairing the Education Committee and contributing as co-editor in chief of the Law Review Committee.

Patrick Sutton

Patrick has more than 20 years of experience in labor and employment law. He spent 11 years advising and representing California state courts as an attorney for the Judicial Council of California. His experience spans employment litigation, labor relations, and training HR professionals on legal compliance.

Before his tenure at the Judicial Council, Patrick represented employers in the private and public sectors and worked in labor relations for the University of California. His commitment to education and support has made him a trusted resource for managers and HR teams alike.
