The Senior Information Technology Specialist’s (Claims System Support) primary responsibilities will include the complex system administration of the EIA’s multi-instance claim system, member claim systems, report creation, new system implementations, and user training.  The position will report directly to the Chief Information Officer.  This position will work with an external vendor for application support.

The ideal candidate will be able to move between multiple projects to support implementations, system integrations, and report creation.  The position will perform the most complex system implementation tasks including user security, system configuration, business rule design, report creation, data analysis and verification.  Additionally, this position will be responsible for recommending efficiencies within multiple system instances to meet the needs of the end users and members. This candidate should be confident in providing solid business solutions to professionals at multiple levels.

Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, the position will perform system administrator functions; lead implementation projects; produce documentation and training materials, create best practices for data handling, provide advanced technical support; collaborate with team and actively participate in cross-department projects.

The ideal candidate will have an Associates’ Degree and two to four years of increasingly responsible work experience in Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Skills should include:

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft SQL Server including database design, development and report generation
  • Solid understanding of database structures and relational database design
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft SQL and SQL Reporting Services (SSRS) including work with stored procedures and functions
  • Ability to analyze data for validity
  • Ability to provide guidance and training to users on technical subjects
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where the demands and directions of the work are constantly changing
  • Exceptional customer service skills and enjoy working with people
  • Works well in a team environment

Experience preferred but not required:

  • Knowledge of and experience administering, implementing, and supporting claims handling systems or Risk Management Information Systems
