Overview

CalPERS has decided to move from risk-based to value-based pricing for its 2022 plan year. This change will result in significant increases in some plans’ rates, e.g. PERS Select, and possible decreases in others, e.g. Blue Shield Access +. This change will result in the expansion of some plans’ service areas as well as a consolidation of the three PPO plans CalPERS now offers into two new plans, PERS Gold and PERS Platinum.  This presentation will give you an overview of what CalPERS is proposing and discuss how it may impact your budgets and your employees starting in January 2022.
