Course description:
This is a challenging and technical course designed to teach Respiratory Program Administrators the information and skills required to do their job effectively. Some of the topics covered are: identifying harmful exposures, methods for assessing employees’ exposures, controlling harmful exposures, voluntary use of respirators, filtering facepiece respirators, wildfires, confined spaces, air-purifying respirators, atmosphere-supplying respirators, negative and positive pressure respirators, respirator selection, environmental factors affecting use, medical evaluations, fit testing, inspections and maintenance, writing a respiratory protection program, and more.
It is strongly recommended students download the Cal/OSHA Respiratory Protection in the Workplace Guide, read it, and be familiar with the material prior to attending class.
Students who complete both days will be able to take the end of course exam. A score of 80% or higher will demonstrate proficiency in accordance with 8 CCR GISO 5144 (c). They will receive a certificate of completion.
