Course description:

Workers’ Compensation for Supervisors covers: “why we have workers’ compensation”, the benefits it provides injured workers, explanation of the exclusive remedy, and the employer’s requirements for administering Workers’ Compensation claims. Loss reduction methods are covered: implementing medical controls, return to work programs, and strategies for managing workers' compensation claims. Key actions are reviewed: reaching maximum medical improvement, supplemental job displacement benefits, claims monitoring, and assisting the injured worker in their healing process so the claim can be closed.

Certification requirements:

  • The homework assignment must be completed and turned in to the instructor.
  • Students must pass the end-of-course exam.

This course may be bundled with Accident Investigation Parts 1 & 2, Safety and the Supervisor, Learning the GISO's,  Safety Management – What is it?, and Developing Effective Control Measures to complete  the Safety Management Training Series.
