Early Return to Work Programs for Individuals with Temporary Restrictions

Early return to work programs (sometimes called Back to Work) are a staple for managing injured workers as they transition from temporary work restrictions to maximum medical improvement. Employers with structured Return to Work (RTW) programs realize significant benefits when those programs facilitate an early return to work and productivity for industrially injured employees. They are also a valuable method to assure that your employees are able to work productively while receiving treatment and moving toward recovery. Yet, program description and back to work agreements must be carefully crafted and consistently enforced. Employees must perform effectively, adhere to the program’s requirements and comply with other standards of conduct. Discipline must be both prompt and effective, to assure the efficacy of your program.
