Whether you're a beginner to the world of excavations, or would like a refresher course as someone who encounters these situations on a daily basis, we invite you to join us for an informational tour in "Excavations for Public Entities" with Juan Cajandig, Senior Loss Prevention Specialist for CSAC EIA.
The learning objects are as follows:
Day 1: December 3, 2015
- Explain and discuss excavation hazards
- Explain AB 1127 and how it changed management accountability
- Explain the Multi-Employer Worksite rules
- Explain the role of the competent person
- Explain permit requirements
- Explain the process for identifying subsurface installations
- Explain and review Cal/OSHA Construction Safety Orders
- Explain and review soil classification and testing
- Explain and review protective systems
- Identify and discuss hazards by walking “Virtual” Excavation Jobsites
Day 2: December 10, 2015
- Cave-in Dynamics
- Soil Classification and Testing
- Protective Systems
- Homework Review
Day 3: December 17, 2015
- Review and discuss homework
- Walk “virtual” job-sites
- Review and Exam
Additional Information:
This course consists of (3) WebEx training days.
In order to receive a certificate of completion you must:
- Attend all 3 WebEx training days
- Complete and turn in the homework assignment as required prior to the start of the day 3 session
- Pass exam (>80%)
