Legislative Committee

Description of Committee

  • Thirteen member committee, including
  • Eleven voting and two alternate committee members
  • Designated positions: 4 workers’ compensation oriented, 4 liability oriented, and 3 at-large and 2 alternates
  • Scheduled to meet monthly at the PRISM office
  • Advisory committee under the direction of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors

Responsibilities

  • Proposes amending, supporting, or opposing legislation and regulations for the benefit of the membership
  • Provides data and testimony in support of legislative positions
  • Focuses on legislation that impacts public agencies and the PRISM Programs in the areas of workers’ compensation, tort liability, employee benefits, healthcare, workplace safety and loss prevention
  • Advises and makes recommendations to the Executive Committee regarding legislative activities to be sponsored by PRISM
