Board of Directors Meeting Workshop 2015

The goal of this workshop is to provide attendees with tools to effectively evaluate, manage and defend high exposure police cases. The full gamut of a police case from the initial response to critical incidents (e.g. officer involved shootings, death in custody, riot) all the way through to trial will be covered.

Some issues to be addressed include:

  • Handling the press and social media
  • The use of technology in incident reconstruction, (e.g. Shotspotter, 3D laser scanning technology)
  • Best practices in law enforcement accountability and risk management
  • Pros and cons of police body cameras
  • Implementation and use of Early Intervention Systems

Speakers:

Two seasoned Police Misconduct Defense Trial Lawyers, with Stubbs and Leone of Walnut Creek, CA, will offer practical tools for managing the issues unique to the defense of high profile police misconduct litigation.

Michael Groves - former Senior Trial Attorney in the San Jose City Attorney’s office
