EIA Re-Accredited with Excellence
We are proud to share the EIA was recently approved for Re-Accreditation with Excellence by CAJPA for the next three years. The accreditation process is a significant process designed to ensure quality and professional standards for all risk management pools regardless of size, scope of operation, or membership structure. The process involves a detailed program study and evaluation of the pool’s operational and governance documents, risk management policies and procedures, and thorough review of the overall operations and financial strength of the organization. The end result is a review and approval by the accreditation committee review and issuance of a report. We are a proud participant and continued recipient of this award, the highest level of accreditation offered by CAJPA.
EIA Finalizes Loss Portfolio Transfer
Great news! The EIA finalized the Loss Portfolio Transfer (LPT) deal, shoring up the funding in the GL1 program. The deal is structured to not only transfer the program’s liabilities going back to July 1, 2007, but the structure also includes providing coverage for liabilities over the next 5 years (through June 30, 2024). This complex deal took several months to put together and eventually finalize, but in the end, it provided the members savings on what continue to be increasing premiums in the GL1 program. Several key parameters were musts in the deal and were accomplished including: shoring up the funding level for the outstanding claims, included the necessary security for the funds being paid to the reinsurers, maintained program (UW) and claims control within the EIA, and allows a structure to roll future years into the deal upon mutual agreement of all parties.
