Jail medical services are an identified area of concern for many California counties. Because of that, the Executive Committee recently approved establishment of a Task Force to explore the feasibility of developing a new JPA as a mechanism for members to collectively self-service jail medical services. The Task Force will be made up of county representatives and industry professionals. The Task Force will have an initial meeting in January at the PRISM office in Folsom, and if a new JPA might be a feasible option, will continue to meet periodically (mostly via Zoom) over the course of the next calendar year. If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please reach out to PRISM CEO, Gina Dean, with your interest by Wednesday, December 20th.
