Property Insurance Program Addresses Vacant Building Exposures and Best Practice Implementation
The EIA’s Property Program has experienced an increasing trend in claims from vacant buildings. Vacant buildings bring a unique risk exposure that while not always avoidable, is manageable with proper risk control practices. EIA’s Risk Control staff has consulted on the issue and has created a self-assessment for all Property Program members to take. The assessment will help members identify any gaps in their current policies and procedures and best practice standards. All Property Program members are requested to take the survey and implement these best practices as soon as possible.
Keep in mind that the Property Committee is looking out for the best interest of the individual members, and the pool as a whole, and because of their fiduciary responsibility, will be evaluating possible penalties for members that do not implement best practices and incur future claims.
Please contact Sarah Bruno at 916-850-7300 with any questions regarding the assessment or associated best practices.
Expanded Accessibility for Labor Law/Employment Practices Services
Effective 7/1/18, the Employment Practices Liability (EPL) legal services provided by the Eyres Law Group will expand to be available to all EIA members. Services include assistance with the Interactive Process, modified duty and reasonable accommodations consultation, and much more! Contact the Risk Control Department for more information.
EIA Office Closed for Independence Day
