Passage of Assembly Bill 218
On October 13, 2019, Governor Newsom signed AB 218 (Gonzalez), which among other things, substantially extends the statute of limitations to bring a civil action against an employer, including school districts, public agencies and others, where there has been a claim against an employee of that organization for alleged child sexual abuse. EIA Partners with Anthem for Additional EAP Services
The EIA is excited to announce that the Employee Benefits Committee has approved partnering with Anthem to provide Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services beginning January 1, 2020! The EAP offered through Anthem will be in addition to and not a replacement of the EAP services currently offered though MHN. Contact Sidney DiDomenico for more information on the new Anthem EAP program partner.
Certificate of Insurance Management Services
The EIA is happy to announce that we have entered into a long term agreement with Ebix to serve as our sole provider of Certificate of Insurance Management services to EIA members. Following an extensive market review conducted by staff which indicated that Ebix was poised to provide the best balance of functionality and value, the Member Services Committee directed staff to execute an updated agreement. This change will have ramifications for members using the EIA’s outgoing provider Exigis, as that relationship is set to expire December 31, 2019. EIA Risk Control has developed an FAQ Sheet to provide additional information regarding the transition. Please reach out to Risk Control if you have any questions.
