Job Description:

The Yuba County District Attorney is looking for an experienced peace officer to join our law enforcement family as a DA Investigator. A DA Investigator is a sworn peace officer who works to ensure investigations are complete and cases ready for presentation to a jury. DA Investigators come alongside detectives from other law enforcement agencies to investigate critical incidents and other major cases. DA Investigators also work closely with prosecuting attorneys to identify and conduct follow-up investigations necessary to uncover the truth and bring justice for crime survivors. Examples of Job Duties: · Conducts full scope of investigative work, including authoring search warrants, locating and interviewing witnesses, managing crime scenes, and processing evidence. · Assists in preparing exhibits and evidence for courtroom presentation.

Requirements:

They will have demonstrated their dedication to justice and victims by routinely going the extra-mile in their investigations, developing a reputation for professional excellence, initiative, and compassion. They will have experience with complex investigations, e.g., homicides, gang crimes, human trafficking, or sex crimes. The ideal candidate will have the love and respect of their subordinates, peers, and supervisors. Required Qualifications: Minimum: Education equivalent to 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited university, plus 4 years of experience as a peace officer. Candidates with additional experience who lack the educational equivalent are encouraged to apply. Additional experience as a peace officer may be substituted for the educational equivalent at a rate of two years of experience per 30 semester or 45 quarter units. Preferred: In addition to the minimum requirements, a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, an Intermediate P.O.S.T. Certificate, and investigative experience as a detective on major crimes. Licenses and Certification: Must meet California requirements for peace officer status, possess a valid California driver's license and a valid P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate.
