Job Description:

Under general direction of the Risk Control Manager (RCM), the Senior Risk Control Specialist conducts a broad range of workers' compensation and property/liability related risk control services to members by assisting members in identifying and reducing potential loss exposures through risk control evaluations, on-site inspections, education, and technical support.

Responsibilities
• Conduct on-site Risk Control Evaluations that encompass a variety of workplace safety and property/liability topics.
• Conduct on-site physical hazard inspections.
• Perform on-site ergonomic evaluations.
• Provide direction and assistance to Members with customizing various safety programs to ensure they are feasible, effectively implemented, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Research and understand the requirements of Cal/OSHA and other relevant regulations.
• Develop detailed loss analysis reports.
• Write accurate and concise communication when responding to Member questions.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in directly related field or equivalent and three years increasingly responsible work in directly related field; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, including but not limited to:
• Strong technical knowledge of Cal/OSHA regulations and property and liability exposures in the public entity environment;
• Excellent public speaking skills;
• Ability to set priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously;
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and good public relations with other employees, agencies, members, and the public;
• A general understanding of the claims process to identify loss drivers.
