Safety Management Training Series

Complete all courses. Conquer the final exam. Earn the Safety Management Certificate from PRISM!

This series teaches public entity employees the essential skills needed to manage an organization’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program effectively, and is an excellent way enhance professional development. Courses can be completed a-la-carte, or as an entire series. Those completing the entire series, and passing a final exam will be awarded PRISM’s Safety Management Certification.

Each course is conveniently held via Zoom, enabling great interaction with the course presenter: Juan Cajandig, PRISM Sr. Risk Control Specialist. There is no cost for PRISM Members and their employees. Each of the following courses includes coursework and exams:

  • Accident Investigation for Supervisors Part 1
  • Accident Investigation for Supervisors Part 2
  • Safety and the Supervisor / Learning to use GISOs
  • Workers' Compensation for Supervisors
  • Safety Management-- What is it?
  • Developing Effective Control Measures

 

Requirements for Earning the Safety Management Certification:

  • Attendance: Attendance of all series courses is required. Courses may be taken in any order, and there is no time limit.
  • Coursework: Out-of-classroom assignments must be completed and meet the standards outlined in the course learning objectives for each course. 
  • End-of-course Exam: Students must achieve a passing score of 80% or higher on each end-of-course exam. 
  • Final Exam: Students who successfully complete all requirements listed above are eligible to take the Final Exam. Students must achieve a passing score of 80% or higher to receive the Safety Management Certification.
